Find out about the benefits of biomass for landlords.

Biomass for Landlords

BIOMASS BOILERS FOR COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL LANDLORDS

Are you the landlord or agent of multiple properties in the same location? If so you and your tenants could benefit from a biomass heating system.

CAPITAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT

If you have multiple properties you could install a biomass district heating system and in doing so qualify for the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive from the Government. Subject to the detailed scheme criteria, this could mean a financial return payable over a period of 20 years.

LOW COST HEAT FOR TENANTS

With a biomass boiler the fuel you will use is wood - either in pellet, log or chip form - all of which are readily available and cheaper than most fossil fuels! Usage levels for each property can be easily monitored by the quantity of hot water consumed measured via a heat meter.

MORE DESIRABLE PROPERTY

Having a rental property that offers a renewable, low-cost energy source is a key sales point which should make your homes more desirable for lease, and ensure they don't remain unoccupied for long!

LOW MAINTENANCE

Once installed a biomass heating system requires minimal maintenance - an annual service and emptying of residue ash which can be every few weeks up to once a year - both of which can be managed by Denby Dale Energy. The actual maintenance cost can be absorbed within the rental costs for each property.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE AND TIMESCALE?

It is difficult to offer an accurate timescale as each project will be different, however our experience has shown that smaller biomass installations where there is little ground work can be installed in approx. 6 weeks.

Large scale installations with building work can run into a number of months.

Each installation will follow the same process:

  • 1. Initial contact
  • 2. Site survey by a member of the Denby Dale Energy team
  • 3. Basic plan and quotation
  • 4. Detail plan and / or 3D drawing
  • 5. Placement of order
  • 6. Building work (if required)
  • 7. Boiler build and shipping
  • 8. Delivery of boiler to site
  • 9. Boiler installation
  • 10. Fuel delivery
  • 11. Commissioning
  • 12. Handover.
